Howdy! My name is Cody VonDrehle and I am 2008 graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Sport Management and a minor in Business Administration. As of fall 2011, I am enrolled at The University of Houston at Victoria working towards a master’s degree in Computer Information Systems. These degrees showcase my many interests which have helped to mold me into a diverse person with several different skill sets. Technology has always been a passionate interest of mine, which is why I have decided to pursue a career and degree in that blossoming industry.

Learning anything related to technology is always something that has come very naturally to me.  As a young man, I taught myself the “bones” of a computer by learning how to assemble working computers from spare parts.  This interest progressed toward learning the “brains” of a computer as I grew older.  I taught myself skills such as web design, graphic design, and basic programming while becoming proficient in countless programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, and the Microsoft Office Suit.  This technical knowledge has also led to me being informally selected as the resident “computer guru” at almost all of my former jobs.

From my most recent position as a teacher for Bay City ISD, I honed my planning and time management skills by quickly learning how to balance the many different roles required of me on my campus.  One of my primary teaching assignments was computer teacher/lab manager. In this role I successfully designed and taught a technology curriculum that included Microsoft Word, Paint, PowerPoint, and Excel.  As my supervisors learned of my knowledge and abilities with different types if technology, I was also given the role of campus technology support.  In this broad role I addressed every technical task that arose on my campus, including training fellow teachers on various technologies, installing computers and components, and troubleshooting various technical issues with computers and the network.

Before working for Bay City ISD, I worked for Wharton ISD as a behavioral coach and PASS specialist. This job taught me many valuable lessons about teamwork and how to effectively motivate students as well as adults. During college I was also fortunate enough work as a marketing/public relations intern with the Texas World Speedway.  I can honestly say that it was the most excited job that I have ever had, and that is not just because I was able to ride in Vipers going north of 200mph. This opportunity with the speedway allowed me to interact with a broad range of customers and taught me how to always represent my employer in a positive and professional manner. Both of these jobs taught me invaluable things about the business world that I would be more than happy to discuss with you.
